Do you know what your greatest gift is that you take for granted?
It’s time.
Every day we are blessed with 24 hours.
We get to choose what we do with that.
I was thinking about this when Jeremiah, my 7 yr old, wanted me to pick him up.
When I picked him up I realized how much heavier and bigger he’s gotten.
One day I won’t get to pick him up because he’ll be too big.
I only have a short amount of time to appreciate and enjoy getting to pick up my son.
This made me re-evaluate how I approach the holiday season.
If you are like me this time of year is very busy.
Lots of parties, closing out the end of year for business, shopping, etc.
It’s so easy to lose sight of what’s most important.
Taking care of your body mentally and physically also becomes a greater challenge.
HOW DO WE CHANGE THIS?
I believe it starts with placing more value and priority on things that truly matter.
Things like:
-Getting in 30 minutes of exercise/activity daily
-Sit down to eat dinner as a family each night without technology distractions
-Take your spouse on a date
-Lay on a blanket in your backyard and read a book to get some vitamin D
-Pick a nonprofit to volunteer at
-Make Christmas cookies with your kids to deliver to your neighbors
Those are just a couple of ideas to get your brain thinking.
Go make a list and write down what you need to value and make more of a priority.
You will never get this day again, so make it count!
Now go make some incredible memories and impact some else’s life:)
